1.What Personal Data We Collect

The collection of your personal data is governed by your interaction with our services and is strictly necessary to provide, maintain, and improve the Kitty Chat experience. We are committed to limiting data collection to what is essential for delivering and ensuring the quality of our services. We obtain information through three main categories:

1.1 Data You Provide

  • Basic Information: Such as your name, gender, date of birth, phone number, email address, and friend list, etc.
  • Social Media-Related Data: Such as your social account nickname, likes and preferences, number of friends, and friend list, etc.
  • User-Uploaded Content: Such as profile pictures and chat messages you submit via the app or service.
  • Usage Data: Including records of your interactions with the services, browser-related data, etc.
  • User-Generated Content (UGC): You may provide user content such as comments, text, images, videos, and audio while using Lamo. This content may be recorded and processed during uploading, distribution, or live streaming, in order to comply with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Payment Data: If you make purchases within Lamo, you may need to provide payment details, which are sent directly to third-party vendors and not stored by Lamo. We may, however, retain transaction information such as merchant name, date, and amount.
  • Third-Party Social Media: If you log in via a social media account, we may access your public profile information, such as from Google or Facebook, or any linked third-party social account data.
  • 1.2 Data Collected Automatically

  • Identification Data: Device type, browser type, brand and model, serial number, screen resolution, etc.
  • Region and Language Identification: Used solely to provide localized language support based on your country or region.
  • Device Information: Including operating system, browser type and version, language settings, etc.
  • MAC Address: Used solely for fraud prevention and identity verification.
  • Technical Tools: Cookies, web beacons, and similar technologies for experience enhancement and analytics.
  • Third-Party App Detection: The app may detect whether WhatsApp is installed to offer personalized support, or whether Google Play is installed to ensure timely updates.
  • 1.3 Data Collected with Your Permission

  • Mobile Advertising Identifiers: With your consent, we may collect identifiers such as Apple’s IDFA or Google’s AAID to provide more relevant ads.
  • Identity Verification: You may choose to upload an identity document to help us verify your identity.
  • Camera and Microphone: Access to your system’s camera and microphone is required for video calls and voice chat features.
  • Photo Album: We may request access to your photo album to upload profile pictures or generate UGC.
  • Clipboard: Clipboard access helps you quickly copy text content.
  • Bluetooth: Used solely to connect to Bluetooth headsets.
  • Push Notifications: With your permission, we may send service-related notifications. You may opt out at any time.
  • IP Address & Network Status: We may collect your IPV4 or IPV6 address and detect your network type and connection status. This helps us identify network issues and prevent data loss or latency to maintain smooth service operation.
  • External Storage Access: On devices running Android 10 or below, we may request permission to access external storage if you choose to save your screenshots to your photo album.
  • 2.How We Process Your Personal Data

We process your Personal Data to provide, maintain, and improve our services, ensure security, and comply with legal obligations. The way we handle your data depends on your interactions with us and the features you use. All processing is conducted in accordance with applicable laws, based on legitimate interests, the performance of a contract, legal obligations, or your consent (where required). We process your Personal Data for the following purposes:

3.1 Provision of Services and Customer Support

We use your Personal Data, such as name and email address, to provide our services and assist you with customer support. This includes enabling account login and responding to your inquiries.

    3.2 Payments

For payment processing, we may collect certain information about your payment instruments (such as credit card details) through our third-party payment processors. This information is used for orderly record-keeping, linking your payment method to your account, processing transactions, billing, and sending invoices. We do not store your full payment details ourselves, but we may retain transaction-related information for accounting and compliance purposes.

    3.3 Service Improvement

We analyze information about your usage to enhance the usability, quality, and functionality of our services. This includes debugging, error resolution, and internal research for technological development.

    3.4 Marketing and Advertising

We use tracking technologies to show you ads during your interaction with our services. These may include both personalized and non-personalized ads, presented as part of your current session or interaction with us. Importantly, your Personal Data is not shared with third parties for advertising purposes, nor is it used to build a long-term profile about you. All advertising is conducted in compliance with relevant privacy standards.

    3.5 Integrity and Security

We process data about you and your usage to maintain the integrity and security of our services, prevent fraud, verify identity, and enforce our policies.

3.6 Legal Compliance and Law Enforcement Assistance

We process your Personal Data to comply with legal obligations and, where required, assist law enforcement agencies.

3.7 Special Categories of Personal Data

In limited cases, we process special categories of Personal Data (e.g., racial or ethnic origin) where necessary for purposes such as preventing unlawful acts or serious misconduct, and only as permitted by applicable law. Disclosure to relevant authorities will only occur when legally required and when obtaining your consent may prejudice these purposes.

    3.8 Cookies and Other Technologies

Our services deploy cookies and similar technologies to collect information necessary to facilitate core functionalities, enhance security, and personalize your experience. These technologies allow us to authenticate your login, manage sessions, remember your preferences, and safeguard your account. We strictly do not use these technologies for advertising, cross-site tracking, or data sale purposes. While you can manage cookie settings via your browser, disabling them may limit service functionality, as detailed in your browser's official help documentation.

3.How We Share Your Personal Data

Under no circumstances do we sell or rent your Personal Data. We disclose your personal data solely to trusted third-party partners, and only when strictly necessary to provide, operate, secure, and improve our services. All such sharing is conducted in full compliance with applicable data protection laws. The parties with whom we may share your data include:

    4.1. Service Providers

To ensure the effective delivery, operation, and continuous improvement of our services, we may share your Personal Data with our trusted third-party service providers. These partners, who assist us in areas such as cloud storage, technical support, analytics, and fraud monitoring, are granted access only to the information necessary to perform their specific functions. They are strictly bound by our instructions, contractual obligations, and applicable laws to protect your data and are prohibited from using it for any independent purposes.

    4.2. Payment Processors

To ensure secure and efficient processing of payments, we rely on established payment processing partners. These entities are granted access to your payment information and transaction details exclusively to complete your purchases and manage billing-related matters.

    4.3. Third-Party Integration

When you choose to connect our service with a third-party platform (e.g., Google, Apple), we share limited information, such as account identifiers, based on your explicit authorization. This data sharing is strictly confined to enabling the specific integration you request. You maintain full control and can manage or revoke these permissions at any time through your account settings.

    4.4. Legal and Safety Obligations

In certain exceptional situations, we may be required to share your information to comply with our legal obligations. This includes responding to legally binding requests from authorities. We may also take this step when it is essential to protect our community—for example, to investigate fraud or address serious threats to safety. We approach such disclosures with extreme caution and in accordance with the law.

    4.5. Business Transfers

In the event of a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. In such cases, we will ensure your data continues to be protected under this Privacy Policy or equivalent safeguards.

    4.Data Security

We implement and maintain comprehensive administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your Personal Data against unauthorized access, alteration, or destruction. These measures include, but are not limited to:

  • Access Control: Personal Data is accessible only to a limited number of authorized personnel who require it to perform their legitimate functions, and are bound by strict contractual confidentiality obligations.
  • Encryption in Transit: We protect all sensitive data transmitted between your device and our services using modern encryption protocols, such as HTTPS and TLS.
  • Infrastructure Security: Our systems are safeguarded by network firewalls, intrusion detection mechanisms, and other industry-standard technologies to prevent unauthorized system access.
  • Ongoing Security Management: We conduct regular security reviews, vulnerability scans, and penetration testing where appropriate, and maintain a structured incident response plan to address potential security events.
  • Data Minimization & Retention: We only collect and retain Personal Information that is necessary for defined purposes, and securely delete or anonymize data when it is no longer required.
  • Please note that while we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your information, no electronic storage or transmission method can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. You also play an important role in safeguarding your data—we encourage you to use a strong, unique password and avoid sharing your account credentials with others.

    5.International Data Transfers

To provide you with a consistent service experience, your Personal Information may be transferred to and processed in countries outside your residence, including those where our service providers or affiliates operate. These jurisdictions may have data protection laws that differ from your own.

Regardless of where your data is processed, we implement robust safeguards to ensure its protection. Our primary mechanisms include:

  • Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs): We enter into data transfer agreements that incorporate these EU-approved clauses with recipients.
  • Adequacy Decisions: We prioritize transfers to countries deemed by the European Commission to provide an adequate level of data protection.
  • These transfers are necessary for the performance of our contract with you, to fulfill our legal obligations, or to serve our legitimate interests. We are committed to upholding the security and privacy of your information in line with applicable laws, including the GDPR and UK GDPR.

    6.Retention of Your Information

We retain your personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this Policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law.

The specific retention period depends on the context:

  • For active users, we retain your data for the duration of your use of our services and for a reasonable period thereafter to support your ongoing experience and for legal and regulatory purposes.
  • For temporary interactions, we retain relevant information for a limited period following your last activity, as dictated by applicable laws.
  • In certain circumstances, such as to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements, we may need to retain specific data for longer periods. Once your information is no longer required, we will securely delete or anonymize it. Backup copies may be retained for a short additional period to support system recovery and auditing, in line with our standard practices.

    7.Your Rights

Depending on your location and applicable data protection laws (such as the GDPR or CCPA), you may have a range of rights regarding your personal data. While the specific rights and their names may vary by jurisdiction, we are committed to facilitating your lawful requests. You can exercise these rights by contacting us at [email protected].

  • Non-Discrimination: To not receive discriminatory treatment for exercising your privacy rights.
  • Please note that these rights are not absolute and may be subject to limitations under local laws. We may need to retain certain information as required by law or for legitimate business purposes.

    8.Children’s Privacy

    10.2 Verification Requirements

For security and compliance purposes, any privacy request must: a) include sufficient information to allow us to verify your identity or the identity of your authorized agent; b) clearly describe your request so that we can understand, evaluate, and respond appropriately.

If we are unable to verify the identity or authority of the requestor, we may not be able to fulfill the request.

10.3 Use of Data for Verification Only

Any Personal Data collected for the purpose of processing a verifiable privacy request will be used solely to verify the identity or authority of the requestor and to process the request.
